In the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between IFAD and the Department of Economics and Social Sciences of the Rome based State Universities (Roma Tre University, Sapienza University and University of Tor Vergata) we launch the following initiative:
What:An MUN is a simulation of the working bodies of the United Nations, in which students are given the opportunity to experience being part of a national delegation to a UN-body. The students have to prepare a topic that the UN debates and then, during the conference, the students meet as the delegates of a country that is not their own and debate these issues.
When:We plan to have a two day conference taking place on *July 8th and 9th*
Who:We expect 150-200 undergraduate students at most to participate.
Where:IFAD headquarter in Rome
We plan to simulate some of the committees of the General Assembly, the United Nations Security Council, the Food and Agriculture Organization and a joint crisis committee. We also plan to include a simulation of the European delegation to the United Nations debating the EU's migration and refugee policies. Other topics included range from Venezuela to Somalia and women empowerment to the French Revolution.
