Theorical knowldege of the debate on Demcoracy and demcoratization in former authoritatian countries. Deep knowledge of a crucial region for international relations and economic stability. Focus on one of the most developed and advanced countries of the region, with an analysis on its transition from Soviet Union, war with Armenia, economic recovery and social stability.
A general knowledge of international history of XX century is preferible but not mandatory.
Oral exams, but the students can produce research papers which will be evaluated.
